About Us

The Natoma Restaurant was founded in the early 1920's, by George Athan, who emigrated from Greece to Ohio in 1910.

Named for a fictitious Indian princess, the subject of an opera by Victor Herbert, the restaurant stands only a few doors west of it's original location.

After Athan died in 1951, his son, Angie Athan, ran the family restaurant for 48 years until his death in 1999.

Today, it is run by George Athan's grandchildren, Dean, Alexis and Georgeanne.

Jay Tolson, a staff reporter for the U.S. News and World report, mentioned his dining experience at natoma in a May 2002 article, praising both the owners and the food. The restaurant was awarded five out of five stars overall on the comprehensive dining Web site, restaurants.com.

Natoma's main dining room is striking, with a high ceiling and oak paneling. The entryway has comfortable couches, the bar is well kept and made cheery by a working fireplace.

Stop in and experience the Natoma for yourself. Where great food and great friends are always in abundance. You'll be glad you did!
